![]() Now I have looked at three classes, the Fighter, the Ranger, and the Paladin. Now usually in role playing games, I tend to lean towards the fighter roles. ![]() Now, I will probably be a half elf in this game as I like half breeds in fiction. I have looked into it a bit, and I am trying to make a decision. Originally posted by noratcat:I have been considering buying this game. It's by no means a great character, but once you buff up with the Paladin spells it's a solid meleer. Level 29: Devastating Critical (Scimitar).Level 26: Overwhelming Critical (Scimitar).Level 1: Weapon Focus (Scimitar), Power Attack and Cleave.Increase strength when you get the option to increase an attribute. You could do it as a Half-Elf as well, but the bonuses for being human (+1 feat and skill point per level) are significant: If you are making a pure Paladin, I would recommend a Human, with the following starting stats. ![]() However, if I'm comparing a level 20 Fighter, Paladin and Ranger, it is the strongest of the three. A lot of the time it is just used to get the Charisma bonus to saves and some uses of Turn Undead, but it has a very strong spell list for a hybrid class. It is worse than a Cleric (but you can say that about most classes). It's a hybrid between a Fighter and a Cleric. If you want to play a more or less pure melee class, then Paladin is probably your best choice. Most of the time 4 or 8 levels of the class is enough for most characters, and in that role it's a very useful class. ![]() Its primary role is to supply feats (they get a bonus feat at 1st level and every even level they gain), they also get Weapon specialization which lets them get a +2 to damage and they are a high base attack bonus class so they can be used to shore up your hit chances. The only thing they're useful for is strength based dual wielding and most of the time you're better off using a two-handed weapon if you're going for damage.įighter isn't very good as a pure class. It's just a case that whatever they do, a Fighter/Rogue does better. ![]()
